The SEM Committee is today, 21 January 2026, opening a consultation seeking views from stakeholders on options aimed at addressing industry feedback on the need for longer auction lead times while maintaining system adequacy and market stability.
Specifically, two short-term options are being considered, alongside a “do nothing”. The consultation also seeks to gather views on a potential move to T-5 auctions in the longer-term, potentially starting from delivery year 2032/33. Any views expressed on this would feed into the CRM Development Programme and may only be implemented once that programme is completed.
The consultation will run until Tuesday, 24 February 2026, and responses should be sent to both CRMsubmissions@cru.ie & crmsubmissions@uregni.gov.uk
