Licences

The Regulatory Authorities issue licences, subject to the satisfaction of certain criteria, to those who wish to engage in electricity generation or supply in the Single Electricity Market.  The RA's also ensure that these licences are enforced.

Licences to generate or supply electricity in Northern Ireland are awarded and enforced by the Utility Regulator.  Holders of electricity licences and copies of the licences can be found here.

Licences to generate or supply electricity in the Republic of Ireland are awarded and enforced by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities.  Details of electricity licences can be found here.
