SEM PLEXOS Model Validation (2018-2023) Information Paper The SEM Committee is today, 5th December 2018, publishing an Information Paper regarding the validation of its SEM PLEXOS model up until the end of 2023, in conjunction with a public version of the SEM PLEXOS Forecast Model for 2018-23. As previously communicated by the SEM Committee to stakeholders (refer to Information Note SEM-18-004), the SEM PLEXOS Model validation was completed by NERA Economic Consulting, who were appointed by the Regulatory Authorities (RAs) as independent consultants to validate the model. The validated model will cover the period up until the end of 2023. Subject to the completion of any further validations, this validated model will be used by the RAs for Rounds 5-8 of Directed Contracts (DC) under the revised SEM arrangements, in addition to other modelling requirements. The SEM Committee is inviting industry participants to attend a SEM PLEXOS Validation workshop at the Crowne Plaza in Dundalk on the 13th December 2018 at 10:30am.
