The SEM Committee has today, 19 May 2026, published a notification of consultation on the eligibility of Synchronous Condenser Units for Intermediary Arrangements.
The RAs have received a request to allow Synchronous Condenser Units to partake in Intermediary arrangements. As this technology type is not currently eligible, the SEM Committee is seeking comments from stakeholders before a decision is made on whether to amend the eligibility criteria.
Responses should be sent, in electronic form by close of business on 19 June 2026 to: TSC@cru.ie and tsc@uregni.gov.uk. All responses received may be published unless the respondent clearly indicates that their response is confidential.
