Treatment of Curtailment in Tie-Break Situations - Proposed Decision Paper

On 26th April 2012, the SEM Committee published a consultation paper on the treatment of curtailment issues in a tie-break situation.  That consultation paper, SEM-12-028, outlined four options for implementation.  Respondents to SEM-12-028 were asked to provide supporting factual/impact based data, which clearly demonstrated the net effects of any ultimate decision on curtailment.

The SEM Committee has now reached a proposed decision on the matter, which is published for comment by stakeholders.  Two other documents are published - a TSO report examining the effect of three options outlined in SEM-12-028 on Dispatch Balancing Costs and wind curtailment.

The other document is a TSO annex setting out the proposed methodology for distinguishing between events of constraints and curtailment.  Stakeholders are asked to comment on this document.  Please note that responses recieved to SEM-12-028 will be published on the AIP website in the coming days.
