Proposed RAs option for all-island harmonised Transmission Loss Adjustment Factors (TLAFs)

TLAFs Proposed Decision Consultation Extension

The SEM Committee has decided to extend the deadline for receipt of comments to its proposed decision on harmonised all island TLAFs, by a further two weeks, to 13 August 2010.

All submissions on this proposed decision should be sent to Jamie Burke (jburke@cer.ie) and Billy Walker (billy.walker@uregni.gov.uk) by close of business on Friday 13 August 2010.

Further to the proposed decision on all-island TLAFs (SEM-10-039), the RAs will be holding a workshop on this matter. The workshop will give stakeholders the opportunity to raise issues about the proposed decision with the RAs and will be held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk on Monday 26th July (9.30am - 1.00pm).

The RAs welcome requests from stakeholders interested in presenting at the workshop. If you wish to do so could you please register your interest with Jamie Burke (jburke@cer.ie) by close of business next Wednesday 14th July. The RAs will notify stakeholders whose presentations can be accommodated at the workshop by COB on Friday 16th July.

The RAs publish today, 18th June, a proposed decision in relation to the all-island harmonised TLAF arrangements. The RAs are proposing from 1st October 2010 that the treatment of losses in dispatch and the market schedule are to be treated on a uniform basis.

The RAs are also proposing, in principle, of adopting in the long-term the concept of ‘Splitting’, which would involved the separate treatment of transmission losses in the market schedule from those in dispatch. The implementation of the ‘Splitting’ proposal is to be contingent on a satisfactory outcome from an Impact Analysis carried out by the RAs.
