Generator Financial Performance Reporting - Changes to Requirements

The Generator Financial Performance (GFP) Report examines the financial performance of generation companies in the SEM in a financial year.

The SEM Committee continually keeps under review the requirements of GFP reporting.  Last year the SEM Committee launched a public consultation on GFP reporting.

Following the close of the consultation, the SEM Committee is making changes to simplify the GFP reporting framework. A key aspect of the change will be to introduce, following comments from market participants, a simplified reporting framework.  There will also be an extension of the coverage of the GFP reporting, to include more participants under the reporting framework.  This will expand the scope of the reporting requirement under the framework to generators with a capacity of more than or equal to 10 MW and also to DSUs and assetless traders. Overall, the changes will result in greater transparency into the revenue streams in the SEM.

As part of ongoing discussions with market participants to enhance the GFPR, the SEMC has also decided to publish a detailed consultation on a new template for the FY2025 report.
