Today, 10th July 2017, the Regulatory Authorities (RAs) published a consultation paper on the 'Fixed Cost of a Best New Entrant Peaking Plant, Capacity Requirement and Annual Capacity Payment Sum (ACPS) for Trading Year 2018'.
Within this consultation paper the figure for the ACPS in 2018 is determined. This year, the RAs are seeking responses on two values of the ACPS, both of which can be summarised as follows:
The first calculation (C1) assigns a value to the Sum based on existing methodology, in line with previous years’ calculations.
The second value (C2) assign as value to the Sum based on an indexation method that takes into consideration the unprecedented swing in currency values
As in previous years, the value will be finalised in a Decision Paper to be issued by the SEM Committee following the receipt and review of responses.
